Nathalie Yaba Salazar is a cultural practitioner
Influenced and inspired by her French, Ivorian, and Andalusian roots, Nathalie’s interests have been drawn to the stories that link us to art and culture, technology and nature, development and tradition.
For the past 15+ years, she has worked across disciplines, exploring communication and creativity, permaculture and regenerative design, community and future stories.
She has led creative projects in public art, artist-led projects, site-specific installations, events, and cultural programs in Europe, the United States, and internationally.
Nathalie Yaba is the founder of Studio Alto, a creative retreat and experimental space in Costa Rica that cares for artists who care for the natural world.
Selected as part of the Y12 Social Architecture cohort for NEW INC, the New Museum incubator in New York, her research explores narratives that reconnect us with nature and shape environments where the built environment and the natural environment coexist.
Nathalie’s practice brings together cultural production, social architecture, and regenerative design, with a focus on place, ecology, collective experience, and the ways artists can help us imagine new relationships with the environments we inhabit.
